Francis I. McGowen was born in the Philadelphia area. He lives in Malvern, Pennsylvania with his wife, Polly. They have 3 children; 2 sons – Daniel and Matthew who is married and a daughter Molly who is also married.

Fran is a 1972 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and a 1975 graduate of Villanova Law School. He practiced law at the law firm of Drinker, Biddle and Reath in Philadelphia. In 1976 Fran followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the automobile business. Fran was the President of McGowen Lincoln Mercury Isuzu, Inc. of West Chester, Pennsylvania, when in 1997 he opened CarSense in Uwchland, Pennsylvania. He serves as the CEO.

Fran sold McGowen in 2000 so he could concentrate on making CarSense the finest used car dealership in Suburban Philadelphia. He opened the second CarSense in Hatfield, PA in November 2003, and several other stores since.

Fran’s vision, leadership and passion to follow the Lord are reflected not only in the success of CarSense, but in his family life, friendships and service to his community.
